Two Distant Strangers

Live, laugh, love is but a dream

Filling voids, the ones unseen

Telling her, that it just isn’t true.

She said he lies, and has her doubts,

But he said, “that’s not what I’m about.

I meant every word I said that day.”

Tequila drinking all night long,

Playing another Giveon song,

Conversing as the moon just drifts away.

Then,

She said she wants him to be vulnerable.

He said he’s sad, she said “too emotional”

But said he’s mad, then she’ll pick up the phone.

Screaming & cursing heads, just a ritual.

Yet, did everything she says,

He still ends up alone.

Dreaming of the laugh he loved ,

and life that slipped astray.
