PDX Pizza Week 2022

In April 2022, Portland brought back the beloved “Pizza Week” where participating pizza shops across Portland Metro served $3 slices or $20 whole pies of a “special” off-menu flavor unique to its shop. In the span of 2 days, I traveled across PDX to try as many as I could. I was able to try 12 out of 25 locations (some repeated shops). Here are photos of my time and the ranking of the ones I tried.

Favorite Pizza of the Week (From least to best)

1. Boxcar Pizza: "Porking for the Weekend"

Jackfruit Carnitas, Pickled Jalapeno, Pineapple, Cilantro-Lime Aioli, Cheddar/ Mozzarella blend on a fluffy and crunchy Detroit style sourdough crust.
2. Atlas Pizza: "CubanOPP!"

Mustard base, Mozzarella, Canadian bacon, House smoked pork butt, Pickles, Red onion
3. Red Sauce Pizza: "Big Daddy Bolognese"

Mozzarella, pecorino, grana, fresh basil, pepperoncini, bolognese sauce
4. Handsome Pizza: "The Sloppy Joe"

Tomato sauce, mozzarella, and sloppy joe
5. Baby Doll Pizza: "Guajillo Gucci"

Choice of either Carne adovada or Jackfruit on an Adobo chili sauce, topped with minced onions, cilantro, and creme fraiche
6. Paladin Pie: Birria Barbarian

Two-day fermented sourdough crust topped with Mole Mole's slow-roasted beef birria pibil, mozzarella, cilantro, and red onion, served alongside consommé
7. East Gilsan Pizza: "The Marvelousn Mrs Maize"

Corn Sauce, Chorizo Verde, Mozzarella, Cotija, Potato
8. Assembly Brewing: "The Trinity"

Caramelized edge Brick cheese blend, Tomato Sauce, Pesto and a reduced Balsamic glaze made fresh.
9. Love Verona: "The Butcher Pie"

Tomato Sauce, Pepperoni, Bacon, Prosciutto, House Made Italian Sausage, Romano Cheese
